Black Christmas (1974)

Dir. Bob Clark

Terror reigns inside a sorority house a few days before Christmas break as a series of menacing phone calls -- and the discovery of a dead girl's body -- transform yuletide cheer into fear. Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey and Andrea Martin ("SCTV") co-star as just a few of the petrified sisters at the mercy of an unseen stalker in this 1970s horror gem from director Robert Clark, who told a much happier holiday tale with his 1983 classic, A Christmas Story.

Prime (2005)

Dir. Ben Younger

This refreshingly offbeat comedy puts love under the microscope. Newly divorced and wondering what the world now has to offer her, Rafi (Uma Thurman), a Manhattan businesswoman, is surprised at how quickly love finds her in the form of Dave (Bryan Greenberg), her polar opposite, an artist from Brooklyn. But is the situation as blissful as it seems to everyone around her, from her shrink (Meryl Streep) to her best pals? Rafi quickly finds out. …

M (1931)

Dir. Fritz Lang

German-American director Fritz Lang presents his first "talkie" -- and cinema's first serial killer -- in this 1931 classic. Plump pedophile Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre), propelled by a compulsion he can't control, escapes the eye of the law -- but not the wrath of the Berlin underworld being blamed for his crimes. The character of Beckert was later used in Nazi propaganda films to illustrate the evils of sexual deviance.

Doom Generation (1995)

Dir. Gregg Araki

Carnage ensues when trash-mouthed, meth-freak Amy Blue (Rose McGowan) and her dim-bulb boyfriend, Jordan White (James Duval), save depraved drifter Xavier Red (Johnathon Schaech) from some skinheads. A clash with a convenience-store clerk leads to a killing, and the trio finds themselves on the run. When their Old Country cousins sneer at the Yanks' chances, they return to America to prepare for a showdown the following year.
